1001 Ways to Eat Your Oats
Did you know that January is National Oatmeal Month? Hmm. Sounds like an excellent excuse to eat even more oats than usual.
In celebration of the food-of-the-month, I posted a recipe for Cherry-Pecan Oats this morning. However, if you need a few new ideas for eating oat bran…
OK, so there may not be 1001 combinations there, but it’s still quite a collection, no? While I find almost any combination involving oats utterly delightful, there are a few dynamic duos and trios that particularly struck my fancy. Observe the trends…
A few recipes, in case you want the details…
Coconutty Carrot Cake Oat Bran
Savory Oats with Fried Egg & Avocado

WOAH! Love this collection!! YUM
I love anything peanut butter! I really like pb and banana and pb-honey oats, but I also love to add a big scoop of peanut butter to cold oatmeal (that I cooked the night before). I can’t wait to try some of your combos!
I’ll pretty much put anything on my oats. It’s fun to “teach” people who are used to just having brown sugar or fruit how to make it really fun and filling!
These all look so yummy! Tastewise, what is the difference between oat bran and oatmeal? I’ve never tried oat bran before!

In terms of flavor, oat bran and oatmeal are practically identical. The difference is really in the texture–I happen to prefer the smoother texture of oat bran to the rougher texture of oatmeal.
Saved! My morning oatmeal needs a serious overhaul…I was literally gagging over the same old bowl of oats and blueberries this week. Thank you for saving my oatmeal from the garbage! I will be trying some of these in the coming weeks.
What an awesome post and perfect timing too. I’ve been sorta getting bored with oatmeal and these creative ideas are for sure going to spice my oats right back up. Thanks a million for sharing.
What yummy ideas! My favorite oatmeal is topped with cinnamon, chopped walnuts and frozen berries. I heat the berries up, so it’s really like adding a chunky berry syrup to my oatmeal!
We must be on the same wave length, because I’m currently putting together an oatmeal post too! So much deliciousness. Your bowls are always so appealing.
I don’t usually eat oats but that chocolate one looks goooooooooooooooooood!
those oats look delicious and so many different combinations! i love oats but am also a fan of savoury breakfasts, so the savoury version looks very tempting to me. avocado, egg and oats- yum
