20-Hour Day

Good morning, all! I never got the chance to check in yesterday, as we were pretty busy from dawn ‘til dusk—or more precisely—4AM to 12AM. Here’s how we have been enjoying our time in Pittsfield thus far:

As per usual, I packed my breakfast for the plane ride. Just the usual SB&J with fruit and string cheese for protein.

Once back at the house, I settled in for a colorful lunch. Seth’s mom kindly stocked the kitchen with plenty of B-Hut-friendly food—Goddess dressing, chickpeas, and bloobs. What more could a girl ask for?

In the afternoon, we explored the neighborhood and stumbled upon some fresh berries growing in the backyard.

Then we headed to dinner at the Church Street Cafe. My salmon was superb—I particularly loved the sesame-cucumber salad on top. On the way out, we had a celebrity sighting—we saw Alec Baldwin! Seth, ever the 30 Rock fan, was quite star-struck for the rest of the evening.

Then we headed to the rehearsal picnic as part of the weekend’s wedding festivities. We ventured out to Tanglewood to catch John Williams and James Taylor. It was such a relaxing atmosphere—we were surrounded by picnickers enjoying wine and cheese as we soaked up the music. I wish we had a similar venue in Raleigh!

After a long trek back to town (on foot), Seth and I felt we had earned some ice cream. Nothing like a classic chocolate-vanilla swirl to end the day right:)

Be back soon with more updates on the wedding. Happy weekend to all:)

  3. Boy that is a long day ;)

  4. Fun!! Seth’s parents are so nice. What a day. Did you try the wild berries?

  5. Caroline! Random question—I have followed your blog for a while and I know you like kashi products. Have you happened to taste the new TLC crackers that they have modified to a “tastier crunch?” Am I going crazy or are these really as unappealing as I am making them out to be? They used to be my favoritesssssss!!

  6. Glad you’re having a good weekend! And yay for Alec Baldwin! I met him once, too… it was before 30 Rock came out so it didn’t feel as strange as that “hey-I-see-you-every-week-in-my-living-room” feeling.

  7. omg i saw james taylor @ tanglewood 10 years ago during a summer spent on campus in college :) :) can’t believe he’s still doing it! i still remember that night (we got caught in an awful thunderstorm on our way out)
