23 on the 24th

Good afternoon all! I write to you in a cheerier mood than usual this afternoon, as today is my 23rd birthday! As you might expect, I’ve been celebrating the occasion with plenty of food!

Thursday

For dinner last night, the whole clan headed out to Rojo, a restaurant that has been a favorite of mine ever since my Spanish class took field trips there in high school. I tried the black bean burger, and it was moderately tasty…but not as delicious as the Flying Biscuit version.

All that present-opening worked up my appetite for dessert. We all headed to 32 Degrees, a local yogurt bar—I chose the pistachio flavor, because, well pistachios are kind of a recent obsession.

Friday

It’s a tradition for my dad and me to enjoy breakfast together on the morning of my birthday. This year, I chose to go to the Original Pancake House so I could order one of their ginormous omelets.

After a little exercise and a viewing of A Christmas Story, I got hungry for lunch. A grilled sandwich featuring leftover Tofurky filled me right up.

Christmas Eve tradition awaits me—I am off to bake dog biscuits for the Yoder family pups!

    Hey Caroline! I totally saw you at the original pancake house this morning as I was walking out with my dad (it’s our tradition to eat breakfast there the day before Christmas).
