A New Toy

In the mayhem of graduation and its associated celebrations, I forgot to mention a major gift that I received in honor of the occasion. My parents have generously provided me with something that I will surely enjoy for years to come. A puppy? A Canon Rebel? No—it’s even better. Check out my new toy:

After years of pining for a Mini Cooper, I finally have one of my own! Thanks, Mom and Dad!

The only question now is, what shall I name it? After driving it a few times, I’ve determined that this car’s gender is male, and I generally like alliterative names (e.g., Lenny the Laptop, Nadine the Nano, etc.). So, my creative foodie friends, please share your suggestions—we’ll have a little informal naming contest here at the BHut.

Although I wanted to play with my new toy all day, instead I had to stay home and study for the GRE. Poop. I managed to cheer myself up with a few tasty meals, however…

One of the many things I love about home is the constant stock of canned pumpkin. Thanks to the popularity of my mom’s pumpkin bread, there is always at least a can or two in the cupboard. This morning I made good use of said surplus with some pumpkin-banana oat bran.

Another Greek salad for lunch. I promise my culinary creativity will return after tomorrow’s test.

Once dinner-time rolled around, I used up some tempeh leftovers by making a quick curry. I soaked up the goodness with an oat bran pita. Yummage.

With that, I bid you good night. Be back soon!

  5. Love the car!!! ENVY!!! LOL I HAVE to name all of my electronics and stuff too. My ipod nano is lovingly called Mortimer. Here’s some ideas for names: Calvin the Cooper, Carlos the Cooper or how about just Cooper. For some reason I was thinking it was a beamer too so I was thought of Bruce, and Benny but that’s the wrong car!! Good luck on naming him!

  11. Hey, there!

I’ve been a reader of your blog for a while, and thought I would stop being a lurker and introduce myself. =P
Are you nervous about taking the GRE? I’m a lover of nutrition, too, and am planning on a career in occupational therapy so I’ll be taking it in a year or two, myself. ;]

Haha, you shouldn’t apologize for a lack of culinary creativity–I think your eats are still stellar, and I know I’m not the only one. :]

As for a car name, the first thing that came to mind when I looked at the picture was “Manny the mini cooper,” haha.

Good luck on your test tomorrow! <3

  12. Congrats on Mr. Cooper! That’s my vote (duh), that way you can say, “I’m Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper!” You may be too young to remember ABC’s TGIF Comedy Lineup.
