Almost There
Those two words have become my mantra over the past week. The end of the semester is fast-approaching, meaning that assignments and tests are abundant these days. The only thing separating me from Thanksgiving break, however, is one last Medical Nutrition Therapy test. Accordingly, this weekend will consist of attempting to cram in information about celiac disease, acid reflux, and bowel disorders, while simultaneously dreaming of the Thanksgiving feast. On second thought, thinking about diverticulitis and cranberry sauce in close succession doesn’t sound very appealing.
Nonetheless, I am very much looking forward to Turkey Day. Already, I can smell the Russian tea that will accompany my parade-watching; I can hear my mom yelling at the dogs congregating in the kitchen; and yes, I can smell the heavenly scent of pumpkin pudding wafting up the stairwell.
This Thanksgiving will undoubtedly bring memories of the past, but there will also be some hints of the future—with any luck, Miss Whitney Abigail will have arrived, and a new Yoder generation can begin. Oh, not to mention this will be my beloved Margot’s first Thanksgiving
What are you looking forward to this Thanksgiving? What are your family’s traditions for the holiday?
Now let’s get onto today’s grub!
After having recently discovered flavored yogurt again, I’ve been incorporating it into all the meals I can. This morning featured Stonyfield’s luscious lemon flavor—it made a delightful topping for blueberry pancakes.
For lunch, I threw together a Chef’s Salad with a variety of veggies, cheese, and the last of that Tofurky.
Tonight’s meal was curry-stuffed squash. It sounded like a good idea in theory, but the end result was only mediocre. Shoulda stuck with the usual white beans and kale.
Alright, I am off to relax. Good night!
