Beautiful Day
Praise the weather gods, because the bitter winter temperatures have ceased, and the sunshine has come out! Clearly, I am one of those people who is significantly affected by the weather. If it’s cold and gray, I get pouty and tend toward excessive introspection; if it’s sunny and warm, I’m one chipper chica. Accordingly, today when I was greeted by sunny skies and 50-ish temperatures, my mood was instantly lifted. Then again, my change in mood could be explained by the fact that “Cecilia” came on my iPod:)
What about you? Do your moods change with the weather?
My good mood has been accompanied by good food recently. Check it out:
Thursday
For dinner last night, Seth and I went to Sushi Love. My camera shyness kicked in, so I didn’t take any pictures for you all. However, we ordered some edamame and veggie rolls that looked something like this:
Friday
Due to the lack of smoothies in my diet lately, I decided to make one for breakfast this morning. Unfortunately, this one was shoveled down the gullet far too fast—can’t be late for the first day of class. It was tasty but resulted in a few too many brain freezes.
Lunch today featured some defrosted tofu in a Ginger Peanut Tofu Salad. It tasted fine, but I am not sure I am too keen on the texture of tofu that has been frozen and thawed.
Now I am off to one last class and the first round of sorority recruitment. Have a good weekend, everyone!

i’m such a weather crank. if it’s cold i’m a major sass-a-frass.
i totally understand camera shyness! but seth is so good with the foodie pics! soon enough you’ll be whipping out your camera!
When it’s cold and rainy, I just don’t feel like doing much of anything
Warmer temps almost always improve my mood too! We were in the 40′s today so I count that as being warm for January in Boston! Love that song too, and seeing your salad with orange wedges!
I love how my ipod is telepathic… haha it seems to know just the right song to shuffle to!!!
My mood is 100% dictated by the weather. It sucks, but luckily it is sunny almost everyday where I live. I have some tofu in my freezer and wasn’t sure what it would taste like thawed. I’ll have to try it.
The weather here is getting a few degrees warmer these past few days with a little sunshine thrown into the mix and it’s making me quite happy when I have to walk outside and don’t get instantly chilled to the bone. Woo!
I love smoothies but I always get brain freezes.. or I start shivering! Brrr!
It was so warm up in Boston today too – such a tease for us though!
I love edamame! Good luck with your first day of class and sorority recruitment.
sunshine—hallelujah! i’m like you about the camera shyness in public/in front of people…but those are very nice pics anyway
I definitely get a mood boost when the weather is pleasant… I’m so excited to run outside for the first time in weeks! I remember that tofu salad… it was SO GOOD!
I’m not particularly affected by weather. I actually love a good storm!
But I love the sun as well. Need a little of e’rythang, and I’ll be alright.
Oh, I understand what you mean, except I am super happy when it is rainy and dreary out. It makes me want to do things that I would normally feel lazy doing, aka- reading (while not on the treadmill or waiting in line, watching a movie (while not multitasking) and so on. We are dreary and foggy today and I cannot wait to be as lazy as I can be (even though I have a mountain of things to do and I’ve already gotten in one workout….)
Yum, your morning smoothie looks SO GOOD. Best of luck with recruitment — go chi o!
Moods absolutely have an effect on my mood. There’s something awesome about that smell of spring that makes me so happy — too bad it’s still months away!
