Brown Baggin’ It

Hello all! I am composing this post on Sunday morning, so as to be sure to have a weekend re-cap for you. How am I able to show you my meals before the weekend is done, you ask? I am brown baggin’ it today, as I have been for the past few days. Sorority recruitment requires that I do so, unless I want to have meals that consist of animal crackers and potato chips. Take a look at my alternative, (more healthful?) meal options:

Friday

Hummus is tasty…soggy sandwiches are not. Oh well.

I even had time for a smoothie on Friday! Cherries Jubilee, indeed.

Saturday

After an awesome run in the morning, I re-fueled with a breakfast parfait. Raisin bran + pumpkin = match made in heaven.

We sisters had been prohibited from packing peanut butter sandwiches for lunch, due to its prominent odor…so I packed an almond butter sandwich instead :)

Before heading out to The Princess and the Frog with Seth, I made a quick dinner out of boxed tomato soup, plus a few of my own additions.

Sunday

Simple Sunday morning oats before another maelstrom of sorority-related activities.

For lunch, I packed some hummus & pita…keeping them separate will hopefully prevent a repeat soggy incident.

Dinner will consist of a Cluckphrey burger along with some crunchy accompaniments.

Now I must primp for my loooong day. Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. What?! Prohibited from PB sammies? How dare they!! haha. Oh well almond butter ones are probably better ;-)

  2. Looks like you’ve been packing some delicious food – your sisters must be jealous!

How was the movie? I’ve been dying to see it.

  3. i had a moophrey’s burger patty tonight, lol. so jealous of your apricot halves, i miss stone fruits!

  4. Great eats! I always brown bag my lunches (well, I have WF reusable lunch bag, but same deal). I love hummus sandwiches, but yea, they do tend to get soggy! Good luck with sorority recruitment!

  5. HA pb prohibition!?? RUDE… :D Good thing you found a loophole!

  6. Great ideas for brown bag lunches! I am taking nutrition classes this semester and having to bring along some snacks/meals, your blog always come in handy!
Did you like the moophrey and cluckphrey burgers Caroline? I spotted them on whole foods and almost got a box… the one thing that held me back was the picture on the moophrey package, it looked so much like meat, does it taste like beef? I don’t eat red meat and don’t really enjoy things that taste like it…
I love veggie burgers, but I like the ones that have their own flavor, not the imitation ones.
