Can’t Resist a Ruffle
I have inherited many things from my mother: my disturbingly large mouth, my introverted nature…and my love of a good ruffle (no, not the potato chip!). Although I consider myself just “selectively girly,” this decidedly feminine fashion trend is one I simply can’t resist. Observe today’s ruffle-riffic outfit:
Between the ruffled shirt and the red heels, you better believe I was struttin’ around campus today. What did you wear today?
Alright, I’ll spare my male readers from any further fashion torture discussion. Onto the eats!
Wednesday
I went for a tropical theme for last night’s smoothie. Sweetened coconut>unsweetened coconut. Who’s with me?
Thursday
Savory oats were on the breakfast menu today. This batch featured some soy sausage (good protein!) as well as spinach and a drizzle of BBQ.
For lunch, I made a lazy girl version of Snobby Joes, using jarred pasta sauce (with peppers and onions), canned lentils, mustard, and some extra onion. It made for a quite a delicious lunch alongside my favorite veggie.
I think I have developed a dependency on acorn squash—I can’t go an entire week without it! I ate an entire small one this evening for dinner, stuffed with white beans, veggies, & walnuts. I enjoy stuffed squash so much that I am thinking that perhaps I should make a fancy version of this for Thanksgiving dinner:)
I must go watch Sorry, Wrong Number for class. Ta-ta for now.

Hello and welcome! I have created this blog for people who love food, especially healthful, vegetarian food.
I have just graduated from Duke University with degrees in English and psychology. I plan to pursue a master's degree in nutrition starting in Fall 2010. Ideally, I would like to combine my love of food and the written word someday as a health writer.

I’m a sucker for girly frills on my clothes too. I don’t do heels though, I’m tall and feel like a giant in them! I admittedly wore yoga clothes yesterday. In my defense, it was my day off

PS As a male reader, my vote is that some fasion discussion from time to time is completely OK…especially if you include pics.
