Caroline’s Amazing Technicolor Dream-coats

As the seasons change, and the temperatures drop, I get a little twinkle in my eye—not only does it mean that Christmas is on its way, but it also means that I get to bust out my ever-expanding coat collection. You must understand that my taste in outerwear is far from ordinary in that I choose my coats like I choose my foods—I am all about the color, baby.

My infatuation with these vibrant garments all began just before my 17th birthday. While shopping with my mom, I fell in love with a turquoise coat, complete with polka-dot lining. I was fortunate enough to receive that coat for my birthday that year…little did my mom know that she would be cultivating yet another obsession in her daughter. Observe:

Hmm, it appears that I am missing a few colors from the rainbow. Purple seems like a good idea, no?

Now, onto the colorful grub:

Monday

Peach-pineapple: not only is it pleasantly alliterative but it also tastes mighty fine.

Tuesday

A decidedly protein-poor breakfast this morning. At least it included copious amounts of my beloved wheat germ.

A Greek salad was on the menu for lunch. The toasted pita triangles made excellent vehicles for Rachel’s Cucumber Dill cottage cheese.

When I returned from an evening of tutoring, I was ready for some food—fast! Accordingly, I made a batch of scrambled tofu. Dee-lish.

Alright, I am off to chat with Mumsy. Good night!

  27. Hi Caroline,

I love your revamped site. I was wondering if you could tell me how much you had to spend for it. And was it a difficult process to deal with the changes? (I.e. did you have to move things around/did things act up after the change?)
I really hope it’s ok that I write this here. If not, feel free to delete it. I have a blog and normally comment on your site under my blog name, but I feel a bit weird asking this, so I wanted to remain anonymous. But in case you are uncomfortable discussing money on your blog, I’m leaving my question on an old post.

  28. Hi Anonymous,
I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have over e-mail. Feel free to contact me at broccolihut@gmail.com.
