Continued Obsessing over Dressing
My infatuation with Annie’s dressings goes way back. It was three years ago that I first sampled some of her magical Goddess dressing (as part of Dreena Burton’s Goddess Garbanzos recipe). ‘Twas love at first taste.
After having such a positive experience with Goddess dressing, I explored several other varieties in the Annie’s Naturals line, spawning my first review of her products, “Obsessing over Dressing.” The kind folks at Annie’s noticed my enthusiasm for their products, so they contacted me about the newest additions to the Annie’s salad dressing line: Fat Free Raspberry Balsamic Vinaigrette, Fat Free Mango Vinaigrette, and Lite Herb Vinaigrette.
While these new flavors are all on the lighter side (low-kcalorie and low-fat), they still pack plenty of flavor.
Fat Free Raspberry Balsamic Vinaigrette
I am always in search of a tasty, fruity salad dressing; most salad dressings of this flavor persuasion are far too sweet. I don’t want to feel like I’m eating liquid lollipops on top of my greens. However, Annie’s raspberry vinaigrette is a perfect balance between tart and sweet. My only complaint? The dark hue of this dressing can stain your teeth!
Fat Free Mango Vinaigrette
I was delighted to discover that Annie’s now makes yet another fruity dressing, this one with a tropical flair. It’s no secret that I love mango, so I was excited to incorporate this light dressing into regular rotation. It even inspired a slaw recipe! This dressing has a similar flavor to Annie’s Papaya Poppyseed variety, minus the oil.
Lite Herb Vinaigrette
This flavor was my least favorite of the three. It was quite difficult to emulsify this dressing, and most of the first few servings were mostly oil as a result. Also, I ended up adding additional herbs to my salad when I used this dressing, because I found the amount included in the dressing itself to be too meager.
Once again, I’ve added a few more of Annie’s dressings to my favorites list. Have you ever tried Annie’s dressings? What are your favorites? I love Goddess, Woodstock, Shiitake & Sesame Vinaigrette, plus the new raspberry and mango vinaigrettes described above.

i’ve never tried annie’s dressings because, honestly, they’re too pricey for me. but that mango one looks so good! maybe the next time a sale comes around i’ll pick up a bottle or two
I love that they’re all gluten and dairy free. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for them!
mmmm, salad dressing envy
If only we had such a variety of salad dressings available over here in England! Fruity flavours are essentially non-existent. Come on Amy’s what are you waiting for..
My favorite Annie’s dressing is the balsamic vinaigrette. So good!
I always hear such a big hype about the Goddess variety. I think I’m gonna have to jump on the bandwagon and try it
I have not tried Annie’s dressings but look at them from time to time. I’m not a big dressing fan and usually top my salads with hummus. Maybe i’ll give the mango dressing a try.
annies was the first ‘natural’ dressing i ever used and probably still my fav to this day. my obsession all started with the raspberry viniagrette hehe <3
Goddess was my first Annie’s dressing and my favorite so far. I’ve only tried two others and they were pretty gross. New salad dressings are expensive experiments, so I’ve avoided trying any more. Annie’s Green Garlic was was nasty…I mean, I guess it does sound a bit gross in retrospect, but I really like garlic, so a creamy garlic dressing seemed like it might be good…not so! Tuscan Italian was also not wonderful, but not as bad as Green Garlic.
I’ve been using Maple Grove Farm’s Balsamic Vinaigrette, and it’s my current go to favorite. Or I use hummus diluted with some water. Mmm.
Wow, I’m glad to see some Annie’s dressings without oil as the first ingredient. I found a no-fat Goddess dressing recipe the other day on Mama Pea’s site and am excited to try that one. I usually just splash balsamic vinegar on my salads, but the taste doesn’t mesh with everything and it’s fun to experiment with homemade. The mango one sounds great; I love it too!
I am a huge Goddess dressing fan but a big fan of Annie’s in general. I also really like Annie’s BBQ sauce
Im an oil and vinegar salad dressing fan but love Annie’s goddess dressing and the red wine and olive oil partly because they have little to no sugar. It’s so hard to bottled dressing without sugar. Not really tried any others of the brand because they either have sugar or are cream based.
