Cookie Mountain

After many weeks of anticipation, my family’s annual Christmas cookie decoration occurred this afternoon. As per usual, we used great-Grandma Whitney’s Teacake recipe.

Once to dough had cooled overnight, we assembled all the necessary components for the decoration party…

After a few hours of playing with sprinkles, we ended up with quite a mountain of cookies.

Although my birthday is not until tomorrow (December 24th), my family is celebrating this evening—meaning that my time to post would be limited. Hence, my shorter and earlier post.  Let’s take a look at what I’ve eaten thus far today…

Breakfast was a mélange of all my favorite ingredients, in the form of a parfait.

For lunch, I used up leftover Tofurky in a salad.

    I also made Christmas cookies and decorated them with royal icing. It is the most fun thing I do every holiday, I love decorating the cookies (pics on my blog if you would like to see), takes me a few hours to do it, but it is therapeutic to me!

    A cookie-baking and decorating session with the whole family looks like so much fun. I did some gingerbread men with my kids this year and they just loved doing all the icing and sprinkles. A great way to keep them occupied for a while!
