Daily Distractions
According to my Google Calendar, the only events planned for today included:
- Run
- Study
- Blog
I don’t know how long it’s been since my schedule has been this empty. Anyway, I had no problem mustering up the motivation for the first and third items on that list…the second was more of a challenge. Call me crazy, but analyzing obscure research methods and distinguishing between a proxy-pre-test and double pre-test designs aren’t on my list of most beloved activities.
Accordingly, I found several distractions today to dilute the drudgery of schoolwork.
1) My split ends are starting to stress me out; I am in desperate need of a hair cut. Clearly, browsing for celebrity hairstyles became completely necessary:
2) Then I decided that some celebratory baking might be in order tomorrow afternoon following my exam. Hence, extensive perusal of Mama Pea’s cookie & bar recipes ensued.
3) A little Michael Buble action never hurt anyone either.
What distractions did you discover today?
Here’s what I nibbled on in between distractions…
Apparently I am on a parfait kick these days, as I had another one this morning. This one, however, featured a heavenly blueberry bran muffin.
I was famished by the time I took a break for lunch, so I made a lazy-girl version of sloppy lentils.
I’ve always been one to crave comfort food during exam time, so dinner was an obvious choice: Cashew Ginger Tofu.
Alright, back to the books…for now. Good night!

Is it just me, or is it easier to get distracted when the year starts to wind down?
Distractions today included drawing Christmas cards,
reminiscing about past events,
grocery shopping (to be fair, this was not so much a distraction as a necessity),
blog reading,
cooking,
and catching up on some TV shows.
Hmm good thing I decided to finish all of my end-of-semester papers early. ;]
Oh man….I used to get SO distracted from studying in college. I love Julia Stiles haircut in that picture. And your parfait looks gorgeous. You have me wanting one
i get distracted so easily too while studying.. exactly what i’m doing right now haha
maybe i’ll go make a parfait just like that, looks so good!
Oh many, one of them being “I can’t get away from the computer due to reading blogs!”
I just love when I don’t have a busy schedule and can enjoy my “fun chores” (i.e. exercise and blogging). I love both of those haircuts… I think short hair would really suit your face!
oo definitely go with julia stiles’ look!
Haha, the blog world is my biggest distraction
I think the Anne Hathaway haircut would look super cute! But so is the Julia Stiles one
