De-Stressing with the Tanners
Whoa. In the interim since my last post, I have been through quite a whirlwind. From 2:30 yesterday afternoon until 3:45 this morning, I was immersed in sorority recruitment mayhem. Needless to say, I slept in a bit this morning (9:45—gasp!), but I still headed to the gym and set about doing homework. With all of that complete, I now type to you as I enjoy a few episodes of Full House—one of my favorite sit-coms from my childhood, and perhaps a formative influence on my identity as the youngest of three sisters. OK, maybe that last part was a bit of a stretch, but it’s still a darn good show. Plus, it is doing wonders to de-stress me this afternoon.
What shows do you like to watch to unwind? My list is endless, but you can bet the Tanners make it on there:)
I have a meeting to attend this evening, so I am uncertain as to whether I will be able to post this evening. Accordingly, I thought I’d post this afternoon to show you what I’ve been chomping on lately.
By the time I got around to breakfast this morning (at 12PM!), I was hangry. I kept it simple with a grilled breakfast sammie and some Greek yogurt. There may or may not have also been some unpictured handfuls of raisin bran involved…
I was excited to take a short study break for lunch, only to discover that my refrigerator is barren once again. How do I eat so much food so quickly? Sigh. Anyway, I came up with a veggie salad as well as a Waldorf version and a handful of Kay’s protein chips.
Now I am off to catch up on Google Reader…until I fall asleep for an afternoon nap. Have a lovely Monday, all!

Hello and welcome! I have created this blog for people who love food, especially healthful, vegetarian food.
I have just graduated from Duke University with degrees in English and psychology. I plan to pursue a master's degree in nutrition starting in Fall 2010. Ideally, I would like to combine my love of food and the written word someday as a health writer.

Ahhh haven’t had a BANINI in sooooo long!! I gotta get on that! I loved Full House and Step by Step and Sister Sister and so many more
My go-to unwind show is friends. I have all 10 seasons on dvd so I never get bored of them! I do like the oldies too though, like full house and fresh prince.
Sadly, I knew just what you were talking about when you said, “The Tanners.”
I am ashamed to admit that I will be losing myself “On the Wings of Love” (aka The Bachelor) tonight
Wow! Sorority recruitment must be intense! I’ve never gone through it myself, but I’ve heard from friends that it is pretty crazy.. and lots of fun. I love Full House! Such a light hearted show.
I love your sammie and salad. I really want to try something from Kay’s Naturals! Did you order online?
Have a great, relaxing night!
Love,
Lexi
Hey girl! I became a vegetarian about a year ago, had to stop for a bit due to my ED, and am now back on it at the approval of my doctors :] i can’t wait to learn more about your yummy recipes and veggie life! take care <3

I need to try those Kay’s chips! Oh so jealous of your sleeping in capabilities!
Sounds like you had a crazy night. Hope your sorority recruitment has settled down a little bit.
What was in your breakfast sandwich – it looks delicious!
I also used to love Full House – haven’t seen it in years though. Saved by the Bell was another good one…
I love Full House!! My favorite was always Stephanie, especially when she was younger. And I had a HUGE crush on Uncle Jesse!
You know what? 9:45 would be super late for me, too! I am always up by 7, no matter what. But, a week ago, I did sleep in until 8:30!!
Have a great week!
whwnever i drive past the painted lady houses in SF i think of full house and imagine i’m in the show…is that weird? lol. enjoy your nap!
Yummy sandwich! and pretty plate too — I have the same one

When are you going to get a break from the sorority recruiting?! Sounds like a s*itload of work!
I’m impressed with your ability to blog/prepare decent meals/stay somewhat sane through recruitment! I usually unwind with trashy reality and the Kardashians
yayyyyy full house! that is one of my faves, right along with the office, saved by the bell and boy meets world! you managed to put together a pretty impressive lunch without much in the fridge
happy tuesday girl!

Full House is classic, always bring a smile to my face. but so does Friends and Will & Grace.
hope youre doing well darling <3
I haven’t made a grilled nut butter sandwich in SO LONG. Time to get back to it!
I watch “The Office” to unwind when I want a 30 minute show (which always leads to 3-4 episodes!), “Glee”, “Heroes”, “Friday Night Lights”, “Gray’s Anatomy”…
I love Full house! I saw the complete series at Best Buy and plan to purchase it soon!
i am with you on the tanners! they defined my childhood. love that pressed sandwich!
Hey! what sorority are you apart of? I am the VP of recruitment in mine and I can sure relate, it gets so crazy busy!
