Decking the Halls Already
Good evening, all! After yet another travel day, Margot and I have returned safely to Raleigh. Before I left home, however, I had the delightful opportunity to decorate the Christmas tree with Mumsy. Typically, we don’t “deck the halls” until mid-December, but there is a Christmas-themed party to take place at the house next Thursday. Alas, when duty calls, I must partake in those very necessary Christmas festivities
Seth and I have plans to put my own tree up later this evening, just as we did last year. Sugar plums are already dancing in my head.
What are some of your family’s favorite holiday traditions? Do you decorate cookies together? Have a latke recipe to share? Do tell!
Here’s how the food part of the weekend went down.
Saturday
I found still more Thanksgiving leftovers in the fridge yesterday morning, so I made another batch of pumpkin oats.
For lunch, I kept it simple with an Asparagus Tofu Salad.
Dinner was a butternut-chard frittata with mozzarella sprinkled on top. It was unexpectedly FANTASTIC. It’s amazing how rich things taste with a touch of full-fat cheese.
Sunday
I rose bright and early again for my morning flight. Raisin bran was all I had time to pack.
Many, many hungry hours later, I finally raided my fridge at home for some lunch.
Tonight I opted to amp up my protein count with a salmon salad.
Alright, off to decorate. Good night!

Yum! I need to make some pumpkin oats! Love the looks of yours
Hahahaha, you and Christmas
Did you announce your 100 day countdown this year?
I’m probably the one who is most into Christmas in my family. Heck! sometimes, I listen to Christmas music when I’m about to sleep. One thing that I dislike is putting away the Christmas tree, such.a.chore … who puts away that GIANT tree of yours? Or is it a real one? Sorry for my rant hehe
