DJ Caroline

Despite my most valiant procrastination attempts (I made another batch of cranberry sauce and cut up a pomegranate this afternoon), my conscientiousness got the best of me, and I actually got some work done today. However, the assignment on which I focused my attention was admittedly a fun one: my final project for my “Radio: Theater of the Mind” class. Unlike other courses, this radio class does not require an excessively long research paper nor does it entail a nerve-wracking presentation; rather, our final project is to create an audio podcast, on any topic of our choosing. Although I toyed with the idea of narrating a cooking demonstration, I ultimately decided to devote my podcast to another passion of mine: Christmas. I’ll be reciting “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and a selection from “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” As you can imagine, I thoroughly enjoyed myself this afternoon, as I searched for just the right background music and the appropriate sound effects. I’ve found this project so entertaining—perhaps I’ll endeavor to create some Broccoli Hut radio programming…What do you think?

Anyway, as a result of all that Christmas diversion, I am in a particularly good mood this evening. Let’s move onto the eats, shall we?

Thursday

Despite its rather blah color, peach-banana is a mighty fine combination, especially with hemp.

Friday

Yeah, it was another SIAB kind of day. My logic is that if I eat it out of a bowl, it’s not really a smoothie, so I’m not actually eating multiple smoothies per day. Right.

One of many reasons why I love bean salads: max prep time=2 minutes. When I’m hangry, I’m hangry—no time for fussy stuff.

For dinner this evening, I pulled out some whole wheat pizza dough (Trader Joe’s) from the freezer. I served it up with some of my fave toppings and a pretty large-and-in-charge salad. Quick tip: Upon purchase, I divided the dough up into 8 little dough balls, making for super-easy single servings.

Now, Alanna and I are headed to Local Yogurt—I’ve never had natural frozen yogurt (tragic, right?), so I am psyched. Later, lovelies!

I really like that dividing pizza dough idea. I never even want to buy pizza dough because it’s just way too much but of COURSE it doesn’t need to all be made at once, duh! :)

  7. Hehe I used to part-time (unpaid of course) DJ on this little online radio; it’s so much fun! I never would’ve thought of connecting it to the blog though. That would make yours even more unique :)

And I worship you for doing your project about Christmas. Just this morning I realized, oh crap no ideas for presents this year! What shall I get everyone? (Bowl of oats? :P )
