Farewell, Dear Old Duke
Good afternoon, blogland! As I’ve mentioned before, this past weekend marked an important milestone in my educational career—I graduated from Duke University yesterday morning. This milestone’s associated events and celebrations made for quite a hectic schedule; hence the mini-blog hiatus.
As you might expect, I have plenty of pictures to show you, of both the edible and non-edible varieties. Enjoy this photographic representation of my farewell to dear old Duke:)
Friday
Upon my family’s arrival Friday evening, we headed straight to Butternut Squash for some classy vegetarian eats.
Afterward, we headed to the Yogurt Pump for a little sweet treat.
Saturday
My farewell to dear old Duke began with one final trip to the gym. The family accompanied Seth and me for our morning workout, and Daddy deemed it a photograph-worthy occasion.
I re-fueled with a Jay Robb-tastic smoothie.
…then again with a simple peanut butter sandwich meal—I didn’t want a grumbling tummy amidst my university’s Baccalaureate Service.
Once the afternoon’s service had concluded, we relaxed for a bit at my beloved Whole Foods, where I indulged in some Divine Grape kombucha.
Soon enough, the feasting hour had arrived, we headed to Taverna Nikos for dinner.
Then it was off to LocoPops for dessert.
Sunday
Before Graduation Day could begin, I ensured that I had a protein-packed breakfast.
Following the ceremony, my family got to work packing up my apartment. Due to my empty fridge and cabinets, my lunch was decidedly snacky.
Seth and I hit the road for the beach, but our bellies beckoned soon enough. We stopped by Subway, where I ordered a salad; we stopped by the grocery store next door so that I could add a little protein to my meal.
I have spent the day chillin’ here at the beach. Be back this evening with today’s re-cap!
