Favorite Holiday Flicks
If any of you happen to follow me on Twitter (and if you don’t, why not?!), you’ll know that I started a discussion of favorite holiday films earlier today. It was so fun to read through the variety in people’s choices; some were old classics, while others were completely new to me—looks like I have plenty of movies to add to my Netflix queue!
Now I present to you Caroline’s List of Top Holiday Films:
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation I’ve been quoting this gem of a movie since age 10. I mean, who doesn’t love Aunt Bethany?
- White Christmas It has become a tradition in my family to go see this film at the Alabama Theater. You can read all about it in last year’s post.
- Elf Let’s just say that for about two weeks after seeing this film, I answered the phone by saying, “Buddy the elf here, what’s your favorite color?”
- Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas I’m pretty sure that my dad and I can collaboratively recite every single line from this movie.
- The Muppet Christmas Carol Truth be told, I like this movie so much that I bought it on iTunes as a freshman in college…it made for excellent in-flight entertainment while traveling home for the holidays:)
Alright, now it’s your turn—tell me your favorite holiday flicks!
Aside from filling up my Netflix queue, I did manage to eat a few things today.
For breakfast, I busted out one of my latest TJ’s purchases, the frozen pomegranate seeds. They made an excellent addition to my morning oat bran.
Once lunchtime rolled around, I made a batch of my Mock Tuna Salad, plus a small serving of Acorn Squash Soup.
My dinner featured a de-veganized version of my Curried Tofu Salad. Said de-veganization was due to the use of Greek yogurt (instead of vegan mayonnaise) and egg whites (instead of tofu). Tasty as ever.
Alright, I am off to squeeze in some quality time with Seth. Ciao.

My favorite holiday flick = Miracle on 34th Street (the original version with Natalie Wood).
Have fun with Seth!
Christmas Vacation is a CLASSIC! Love that movie!
The Santa Clause (post to come about that one) and The Family Stone!
I got those pom seeds a few months ago and was disappointed by their pale color.
My favorite modern Christmas film in The Holiday– so cute and enchanting. But I hold a dear, special place in my heart for A Christmas Story and of course, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacations– classics
Love Actually.
The Ref.
i think elf is probably my favorite!!! Or It’s a wonderful Life
Favourite Christmas film is Love Actually.
HOME ALONE! My absolute favorite. Just love that movie. Acorn squash soup sounds awesome about now. Why is it so cold?
Christmas Vacation is a must in our house! As is The Santa Clause, A Christmas Story, and the original A Christmas Carol with Alistair Simms. We watch them all every year!
I love elf, the santa clause, and it’s a wonderful life.
