Forgotten Recipes

Ah recipe filing—one of life’s simple pleasures…well, for me at least. I take great joy in categorizing my ever-growing arsenal of recipes into various files on my laptop. Behold:

Recipe File

(Sadly, I’ve probably made only 30% of the dishes in my digital recipe file—but that’s a tale for another post).

When I discover an enticing recipe during blog-reading, I simply copy, paste, and save it into one of my neat categories. When it comes to hard-copy recipes, however, my organization is abysmal.

How do you organize your recipes?

Onto today’s eats:

I had planned on making a batch of carrot cake pancakes this morning, only to discover that I had no carrots. I guess I inadvertently ate them all. Anyway, I decided to make a different coconutty combination instead.

Once home from errands, I made a long-neglected hummus recipe, Greek Hummus.

For dinner, I busted out the fish and made a simple, healthful meal.

Good night, all!

  1. I have a binder, page protectors, and dividers that I put all of my own recipes in. All the other recipes (from other blogs, magazine articles, etc.) are in page protectors in a big ol’ stack waiting to be put in their own binder.

  2. I use EVERNOTE for online recipes. It can be sync to iphone and ipad, so it’s convenient! ;)

  3. You’re one step more organized than me, I never tear out my magazine recipes :-/ I just have an ever-growing pile of magazines with dog-eared pages haha it is getting scary!

Love seeing your delicious eats everyday! Always makes me hungry :-)

  4. I totally do the same thing! WHen I find recipes I enjoy, I bookmark them, only to find them 6 months later, never tried. Oh well- at least it’s a fun hobby to do :)

  5. I need a better way of organizing my recipes because I can NEVER find the ones I want to try!

  6. I am horrible staying organized with recipes – i have them everywhere. My worst is old cookbooks. I dog ear pages and then forget about them till one million years later and then i wonder “why didnt i make that”
