Gettin’ Grease-y
As I mentioned in my last post, last Friday my sorority hosted a Grease-themed party as part of our recruitment festivities. Generally speaking, I am a whiner when it comes to recruitment, but this event involved a little dress-up, so I was pretty excited. I donned a pink polka-dot shirt and some black pixie pants with black flats for the occasion—all of which I already owned, of course. However, I was not about to get my beloved shoes all narstied up on my way over to the party. Hence, my old pair of oh-so-fetching running shoes:
At long last, recruitment is over; as a senior, I will never have to participate ever again. Whew. Now, let’s get back to a normal life with tasty eats, shall we?
Friday
On my most recent trip to Whole Foods, I indulged myself in a little treat that I used to eat all the time when I first became a vegetarian: SmartDeli meatless turkey. It makes one mean sandwich, I tell you.
I also packed a few snacks for the long evening:
Saturday
Due to a ridiculously long night on Friday (read: bedtime at 3:30 AM), my first meal of Saturday was not consumed until about 12 PM. Smoothies always make me feel chipper though;)
I spent the afternoon with Sethski, and time got away from me—I gobbled down this salad in about 3 minutes flat. I think it tasted good.
For dinner, I packed a ho-hum hummus platter. Nothing special here, but it got the job done.
Sunday
I opted for a bit of an eclectic bowl of oat bran yesterday morning. The more toppings the better.
I needed to clean out some leftovers for lunch yesterday, so another bean salad was on the menu. Annie’s Roasted Red Pepper Vinaigrette works perfectly for this kind of dish.
Dinner was a salad bar creation at our on-campus dining hall, featuring roasted sweet potatoes, baked tofu, and red bell peppers. I was with Seth…and I am still camera-shy, so no pictures my lovelies.
Monday
I was in a parfait kind of mood this morning, so I made a chocolate-PB-strawberry-banana concoction. So delish.
Now I am off to class! Toodles.
