Gimme Grains!
As you may recall, there is always an overabundance of nut butters in my house. After my trip to Whole Foods today, however, I think there may be a new item that will rival nut butters in the number of varieties present in my pantry: grains. As I was skipping down the aisles of my happiest place on Earth, I happened to accumulate several varieties of whole grain goodness, including oat bran, 7-grain cereal, bulghur, and polenta. Let’s just say that Bob’s Red Mill snagged much of my grocery budget today. What item do you tend to buy in abundance?
Shockingly, I didn’t consume any of said grains today. Ah well, there’s plenty of time for delighting in my grains.
Sunday
Due to my lack of granola, I opted to use a new Nature’s Path item for my smoothie topper. Holy maple! Although I have never sampled Waffle Crisp (which is a tragedy according to VeggieGirl), I bet it would taste something like this cereal.

Monday
I had a blissfully non-humid run this morning around campus. When I arrived back at the apartment, I was craving a savory breakfast; cottage cheese did the trick (although it would have been better with Rachel‘s).

After my jaunt to Whole Foods, I prepared an old standby for school days: Goddess Garbanzos. This lunch was crazy crunchy, which made for quite a noisy lunch. Sorry, Alanna.

I relied on a Gliding Calm masterpiece for dinner. Delicious.

Alright, I should prep myself for tomorrow’s classes. Ciao for now!![]()

your plates are beautiful! as are your eats, of course….
I just found your blog and left you a comment on your About tab, but what do I buy in abundance? Implulse buying with veggies. Oh, another 2 dozen brussel’s sprouts, 3 more peppers, another bag of organic salad mix…never low on produce round here, that’s for sure! Not that it doesnt get eaten but sometimes the fridge drawers are stuffed with bags of various greenery.
Haha, yum! I actually buy in small doses out of habit and just wanting to frequent the grocery store
but I always have whole grains, soups, and frozen vegetables around so I suppose I must over-do it at some point! Enjoy your new purchases dear!
Hehehe VG and I talked for about 30 minutes about Waffle Crisp, Smacks, and Golden Grahams! They ARE pretty tasty, in a feel-your-teeth-rotting kind of way
Your salads always look so yummy! I love adding citrus to mine, too.
Have fun in class tomorrow!
i buy greek yogurt and cottage cheese like the world is ending. had some nature’s path flax flakes today too! just the multigrain variety. hope class is good tomorrow!
glad shcool is going well!! I def buy too many bars- I have a jar full but I always spot a new interest
I definitely buy grains in abundance too. Lots of cereal, oat bran, rolled oats, steel cute oats (or lots of oats in general!), brown rice, wild rice, barley, millet, etc. Too many to list
I love that maple cereal too! I’ll try it on top of a smoothie ala broccolihut next time =)
oat bran, polenta and bulgur are some of my fav grains too as you already saw from my pantry! Haha, I ALWAYS stock up on Greek yogurt, fruit, eggs, cheese, and almond milk. Oh, and oats!
I love your plates!!
I always have too much almond/soy/rice/etc milk around!
And I’ve a fridge magnet that looks like the pattern on your dinner plate. love it!
I have been pounding back grains like it’s my job. Currently I’m eating 4 pieces of sprouted grain toast! This has been routine for me for about a week now. It’s pretty ridiculous
Nut butters & oatmeal in abundance
And fresh apples. Maple cereal!! Ahhhh!!!
grains, teas and fresh produce are items that I tend to buy in abundance and make sure to eat them all!
That dinner plate is so pretty–I love that pattern! I really can’t believe we haven’t bumped into each other skipping at WFs in the past
I have an abundance of black beans and chickpeas at my house! I’m always making hummus or black bean burritos. Can’t get enough of the stuff.
Do you eat regular cottage cheese or whipped? I don’t like the texture of regular, but I think I might be able to get into the whipped kind.
Haha…I buy grains in abundance too! I have at least 4 different types of morning grains, plus quinoa, bulgar, brown rice, etc.
I’m going to have to try that cereal out! I love maple flavored cereals, so this one is right up my alley!
I tend to stock up on beans for some reason!
That cereal sounds all kinds of tasty. I love maple anything!
Oh girl, never having waffle crisp is a tragedy! I was such a Post Cereal girl when I was young! I’ve personally sampled them all at one point
Hope classes go well today!
Beautiful eats as usual!
I love that black and white bowl – so cute!
I’ve never had the waffle crisp either so you aren’t the only tragedy out there
Hmmm I think I buy too many grains as well! I ended up having to bring a bunch home from school at the end of the semester. hah.
We are a grain-heavy household too! Oats, cereal, rice, couscous, etc. But fresh produce probably outweighs it just…I am a fruit fiend!
You know what I really miss when I’m on holiday in the US? Grains! Haha…it’s a good thing products with grains are becoming more and more popular there!
And the nut butters? Well…they are not so common here in Europe, too bad. Really wanna try some! xxx
I buy a ton of grains, I have a whole cereal shelf in my pantry, but I do love it.
mmm I had cottage cheese today and it was supah good
and now kudos to you I want an orangeeee
I tend to buy nut butters in abundance – and dulse. I know, I’m odd
I tend to overdo it on grains too since I discovered the bulk bins have such great prices. I never have to go without steel cut oats anymore!
