Gobble, Gobble
Hello all! I hope everyone here in the States had a relaxing and food-filled Thanksgiving; as for everyone else—I hope you had a fantastic Thursday! I apologize for the delay on my Turkey Day eats, but I was too busy last night eating, playing Scattergories, chatting, and oh yeah, eating some more. Here’s what I gobbled up throughout Thursday:
Wednesday
Fluffy Spirutein shake, feature more peaches and mangoes.
Thursday
After a rockin’ run in sub 40-degree temperatures, I returned home ready for some food comfort, aka hot oatmeal. Maple syrup makes everything better:)
Then I set about making my cranberry sauce for dinner.
This year marked the first year that I was not preparing some sort of meat analog for the main Turkey Day meal…so I had some Tofurky for lunch instead. I don’t eat many meat substitutes anymore, but I do like some of the faux fare every now and then.
I was in charge of the appetizers for the family meal this year. At one point I had grandiose plans of making multiple kinds of hummus…but in the end I flaked out and bought some Sabra. Would you believe that until yesterday I was (gasp!) a Sabra virgin? This stuff is crazy-good. If you’ve tried it, what’s your favorite flavor?
I also served some tzatziki with veggies. Can you spot the pug?
While everyone was munching away on the appetizers, the main events of the meal started rolling out of the kitchen:
Then we settled into our meal at our gorgeous table (well-done, Ma!):
My plate:
To satisfy my inevitable evening munchies, I busted out the Pumpkin Pie yogurt I had been saving. To be honest, I was not a fan—the best part about this yogurt is the pilgrim hat donned by the Stonyfield cow. Maybe I would like it better if it were in Greek yogurt form?
Somehow, I still made room for a smoothie. I kept it small and simple with a peach-pineapple variety.
Clearly, I had a fabulous Thanksgiving, enjoyed with the ones I love and accompanied by dang tasty eats. I’ll be back later for a re-cap of Friday!

Hello and welcome! I have created this blog for people who love food, especially healthful, vegetarian food.
I currently attend college in North Carolina, where I am studying English and psychology, although I plan on pursuing an additional degree in nutrition after I graduate. Ideally, I would like to combine my love of food and the written word someday as a health writer.

Mmm your table looks beautiful! That apple pie looks so American and delicious
Glad you had a good Thanksgiving!
Same frigid temperatures here too – brr!!
Lovely table scape (channeling my inner Sandra Lee – help!) and fare!
If you like the flavor of the pumpkin pie yogurt, I’ve done vanilla oikos with 1/4 cup pumpkin and a teaspoon Trader Joe pumpkin pie spice and it was virtually the same but thicker.
Looks so delicious!!!
That is a beautiful table, and I like your plate with the greens and stuffed squash!
I also tried the pumpkin pie yogurt the other day with my son and neither of us liked it, sadly it went to the trash (and I hate throwing away quality food…)
Happy (belated) Thanksgiving to you too Caroline! Hope you are having a wonderful time with your family! (I always miss my parents and sister during the holidays…)

I think that’s the most healthy-looking Thanksgiving plate I’ve ever seen! Looks great. And I can’t believe you hadn’t had Sabra yet, it’s so flipping good! My favorite is their plain. The other flavors are good, but I think you can’t get better than plain.
Fancy table spread. Everything looks gorgeous as usual and I am glad to see that you enjoyed my favorite game (scattegories!) with your fam. I think I will take a slice of that key lime pie right about now! Yummm!
Wow what a beautiful table and delicious food! Looks like you had a great Thanksgiving!
