Gonna Party Like It’s Mah Berfday
Good evening everyone! Thus far, Christmas Eve has been filled with all my favorite things: a brisk run, wrapping presents, a trip to Whole Foods, plus a little baking session. Indeed, I am partying like it’s my birthday—oh wait—it is my birthday:)
Before my Christmas Eve began, however, I got a chance to check out some of my town’s most fabulous Christmas light displays with my mom.
Do you decorate your house for the holiday season? Our only outdoor decoration this year was a giant lit wreath with ornaments on it. Simple but classy, I think.
Here’s how I’ve been keeping myself fueled since my last post:
Wednesday
Nothing fancy about this smoothie—just straight-up tasty and nutritious.
Thursday
After my refreshing run this morning, I settled down to a nice big bowl of pumpkin oats, complete with some holiday flavors on top.
It’s a tradition that my dad and I go out for a meal every year on my birthday (check out last year’s outing). Today we headed to Whole Foods where I loaded up on some sweet salads, washed down with my beloved Divine Grape kombucha.
Upon returning, I began another activity that has become a Christmas Eve tradition: baking dog biscuits for the many pooches in my life. Yes, I love my dogs that much, and yes, they are completely spoiled. If you’re interested, I used a recipe from this book to make these Peanut Butter Bites.
Yet another tradition in our household is to have a lasagna dinner before heading out to church. The rest of the family typically enjoys a meat-laden version, so I picked up a veggie lasagna made by my friend Amy. The lasagna was especially enjoyable because it was eaten on my “you are special today” birthday plate…
I wish you all a joyful evening. Take care,

Happy Belated Birthday and Merry Christmas! It’s crazy how many people I “know” (both in real life and bloggers) have birthdays on Christmas eve or Christmas day

I love your blog and always read it, but I don’t think I have ever commented before. I just had to say that growing up we had the exact same red birthday plate, and we got to pick our birthday meals to eat on it!
Happy Much-Belated Birthday!
Talk about belated birthday wishes! But sounds like you had a good day
