Granola, Groceries, Greek Food, and…a Puppy

Greetings from Birmingham! Since my last meal re-cap, I have made my way back home, for a glorious week-long reprieve from school. Highlights of my time at home thus far include:

A re-stock of MixMyGranola

Goodies from Organic Harvest

Greek food at DoDiYo’s

AND some quality time with Rainer

Yep, life is pretty sweet right now. What was the highlight of your weekend?

Due to having so many distractions, I have been resorting to simple favorites for mealtimes. Check it out:

Saturday

For my early flight home, I packed some raisin bran, despite being a few days late for National Raisin Bran Day. Oh well, I love me some raisin bran 365 days a year.

After landing in Birmingham, my mom, Lea, and I decided to make a long overdue trip to TJ Maxx. I left empty-handed, mostly because I was too hungry to concentrate on shopping. Here’s what I stuffed in my mouth upon returning.

The whole fam (minus Katie) went for a celebratory meal at DoDiYo’s Greek restaurant. This place had such a wide variety of delicious vegetarian dishes that it might rival Taverna Nikos as my favorite Greek restaurant.

Lucky for me, I had smoothie supplies in the freezer and pantry last night. Phew! A night without a smoothie would be tragic.

Sunday

The star of this morning’s breakfast was definitely this random jar of jam I found in the refrigerator. Cranberries? Pears? Yes, please.

I couldn’t wait to use some of my goodies from the health food store, so I busted open some of my new hummus to make a wrap for lunch.

My mom whipped up a big batch of chili for dinner, so I decided to follow suit by opening up a canned vegetarian variety. I bulked it up a bit with corn and raw pepitas.

Hmm, I think it’s time for a little TV time now. Good night!
