Joy in Numbers
Considering the fact that I am generally a math-averse person, you can imagine the volumes it speaks for me to take joy in numbers. Nonetheless, I can proudly say that three little numbers brought me much happiness this morning.
Indeed, I ran 2.44 miles this morning—pain-free! Due to my hip injury, it’s been six weeks since I was last able to accomplish such a feat. I was a tad sore this afternoon, but nothing a little foam rolling couldn’t fix. I realize that I am still not 100% recovered, and for that reason I am still planning on seeing an orthopedist next week. Perhaps he can shed some light on how to avoid this injury in the future!
What are you taking joy in today?
This morning’s run was definitely a bright spot in my day, but I also had some awesome eats to lift my mood.
By now, you’ve probably figured out that I am quite infatuated with Susan’s Dairy-Free(ish) Protein Pancakes. I once again made them into waffle form today, this time using chocolate Vegan Protein and a little dark cocoa powder. De-lish.
After running errands and finishing a project at the library, I came home to make a batch of Coconut Black Beans with Mango. I’m not sure what’s up with this jar of coconut butter—it’s not nearly as drizzle-able as my past jars have been. Ah well—it still tastes like heaven.
My appetite didn’t return again until much later in the evening at which time I put together a lazy meal. Tomato soup + grilled cheese never fails me.
Happy weekend, all!

Those waffles looks delicious!
I’m envious of your run, as it’s been raining non stop the past week in my town! Let’s just say I’m getting quite tired of reverting to the treadmill and indoor yoga!
Yay!! Congrats on the pain free run. That is absolutely wonderful. You must have felt awesome after such an accomplishment.
Today I’m taking joy in not having to go anywhere. I’m staying home, going for a run, finishing some homework and enjoying a very perfect Saturday afternoon.
Congratulations on the run! Coconut Black Beans sound delicious.
