October Flowers

Now that fall has arrived, fresh flowers may be in short supply, but I certainly got my fair share of them this weekend.

First, some real flowers:

Seth surprised me on Saturday with a handful of sunflowers, “just because.” He also explained that he thought they would fit in nicely as a yellow accent in my living room decor. He is a man with a heart for romance and an eye for design—a thoughtful gesture all around.

Then, some “Wallflowers:”

If you’ve ever visited Bath & Body Works, chances are you’ve seen these home fragrance sets before. I’m convinced that my mother buys them in bulk, as it seems that every room in the house has some kind of “sea island cotton” or “sweet pea” scent wafting through it. Anyway, I decided to freshen up my apartment with the “bamboo fresh” scent for now and “fresh balsam” for the holidays.

Aside from sniffing flowers this weekend, I did manage to eat a few things too.

Saturday

After a refreshing run yesterday morning, I re-fueled with a savory cottage cheese and veggie breakfast. Oh,  how I miss those Rachel’s cottage cheese cups

Before heading out to the mall for some important errands (i.e., stocking up on home fragrances), I made a quick lunch.

Seth and I then headed to the theater to see The Social Network. I thoroughly enjoyed it—I always like a flick with some artistic flair and a good soundtrack. Plus, I will always have a special place in my heart for JRT :)

Then we headed to Whole Foods for dinner. Score! I loaded up on the beets but found them quite astringent—someone was a little too heavy-handed on the ginger.

Sunday

I finally got around to experimenting with peanut flour this morning with a bowl of PB&J oat bran. Delish.

After a “for-procrastination only” Target run, I returned to make some lunch. Yep, more hardboiled egg + hummus action.

I took a small break from studying to make an apple-edamame salad with cashews. Major broc lovin’ on the side.

With that, I bid you good night, m’lovelies.
