Party of Five

Source

No, no, no. Not that party of five. I’m talking about this party of five:

This morning,  I finally decided to call to make dinner reservations for my upcoming graduation weekend. Aside from providing a creative means of procrastination, making these plans also induced a flurry of emotion.

It’s no secret that I love my family dearly. My mom and sisters are among my best friends in the world; my dad is a constant source of advice and comic relief in my life. After a few weddings

…we are technically no longer a party of five, but I have grown to love my sisters’ husbands like brothers. Accordingly, I am delighted to see them all again in less than two weeks. The whole Yoder clan will be here for my graduation, and then we all head to the beach! Yeehaw for family vacays!

What do you love about your family?

Alright, enough of the nostalgia, Caroline. Let’s get onto the grub.

In an effort to clean out my overflowing freezer before moving out in a few weeks, I decided frozen waffles would be the perfect breakfast this morning. Who needs syrup when you’ve got Fage?

For lunch, I busted out my hummus-making skills. I can’t release the recipe quite yet for this orange-peanut combination, as it is part of a collection of recipes I am developing for a company we all know and love. Details to come in the future…

I used up the last of my Gardein goodies for dinner this evening. This time, I decided to put a Greek twist on the beefless tips by incorporating them into a hummus wrap and serving them alongside a Mediterranean-themed salad.

Off to do a little more studying. Later lovelies!

  1. Awww…your family is adorable. The only way you all’d be cuter would be if Matthew Fox was in it. Or Seth. Just sayin’.

  2. Recipe developing?! I can’t wait to hear more!
I love about my family that, no matter how ridiculous or last minute, we’ll make it work. If we all have to drive 3 hours to go to a 2 hour birthday party and in that time my dad and grandfather are driving around looking for random stores for me to get food from, we’ll do that to be together.

  3. Aww, I am super close to my family, too. I love that they are supportive of me and always there when I need to talk.

Oooh, can’t wait for the release of your fabulous hummus recipe. I’ve been obsessed w/ hummus forever and am always looking for good new recipes!

  4. That is so cool to hear about your recipe developing!
My family is full of love, support, an acceptance and I couldn’t love them more for it. I cannot wait to hear about your family vacation-that will be so much fun. Good luck on your finals!

  5. Your family sounds great! And yay for the upcoming beach trip!

I love the everyday moments my parents and I have where we all start cracking up over something dumb. I’ll miss these times when I’m finally able to move out!

  6. Yay for family time! I’m headed to a cousin’s wedding in a few weeks and I’m so excited to spend some time with my folks and little brother!

  7. I love my mother because she is, quite simply, the best friend I could ever ask for.

Yummy sounding recipe! I can’t wait to hear more about what you’re up to!

  8. awww love this post! you have such a beautiful family! what I love about my family is that we are REAL I love all the quirky, inside jokes and family things we do and have together! nothing beats your family!!!

  9. who needs syrup when you have Fage? MEEEEEEE! I need both. Hehe.

Love the family pics- and love that you guys are so close! Enjoy your trip!

I love my family- we are all so far apart from each other so it’s rare that we all get together, but always amazing when we do. Best thing about family is that no matter how much time passes, we pick up exactly where we left off!

  10. Your family looks so nice! 6 dogs for a party of 5, right?

I used to watch that show with my babysitters… loved it. Neve Campbell and I have the same birthday, and when I was little everyone used to say we looked alike!

  11. Congrats on graduating… not going to lie, I’m slightly jealous :)
By the way, where did you decide on for your graduation dinner?
