RD-Eligible

RD-eligible

As of Friday, June 20th, I am now “RD-eligible.” Translation: I’m done with everything but the exam! As you might have gleaned from my absence over the past 10 months, the internship was definitely a challenge in terms of time management, but it was one of the most rewarding and educational experiences I’ve had in my whole life. Perhaps most importantly, it convinced me that I have chosen the right career path. Dealing with patients came remarkably easily, particularly considering my usual introverted tendencies. Apparently, I’m passionate enough about food and nutrition to overcome my characteristic shyness.

If any of you are interested in hearing about the rotations that I have yet to report on (including, but not limited to: diabetes education, clinical research, public health, and food service management), please let me know. I’ll gauge interest and either e-mail you or publish a post here.

In the meantime, I’d like to return my attention to the Broccoli Hut a few times per week. I’ve got a little spare time this summer before I launch into the PhD program full-time in August. I have a stack of food magazines I plan on diving into later this evening, and hopefully they’ll provide me with some culinary inspiration.

What would you like to see on The Broccoli Hut? Recipes, health information, something else? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I would like to hear about all of those other rotations! I’m looking into pursuing a similar career path and would love to know as much as possible :)

  2. Congrats, Caroline! I’m glad to hear the internship experience was so rewarding…and excited that you’ll be able to blog here a bit more often. We missed you! I’m excited for whatever you decide to post. :)

  3. Hi Caroline! First of all, congratulations!! What an amazing accomplishment to add to what seems to be just a growing list of them. I really enjoy reading about your new recipies and the what I ate posts you used to do…also the cooking for one post! I also was interested if you’ve read the books and articles that discuss eating for your blood type? Have you heard of those?
