Schweaty
No, not that kind of schweaty.
I mean this kind of schweaty:
Yep. That’s my sweat-drenched t-shirt from this morning’s workout. Perhaps it was hotter in the gym than normal, or I’m just one schweaty chica—regardless, I was more than a bit “dewy” this morning,. Indeed, the perspiration situation got so intense that I had to stop mid-workout to remove my shirt in the bathroom and rock the sports-bra-only look. Fortunately, I had a light jacket to cover myself up for the remainder of my workout. Oy.
Do you sweat a lot during your workouts, or are you one of the lucky ones who can maintain a pristine appearance during exercise?
After my sweat session this morning, I got straight to work on paper writing. But first, I re-fueled with some naner-tastic oat bran.
I took a break mid-day to head to Whole Foods where I picked up a small indulgence:
I used to eat this stuff like it was my job when I first went veg. I don’t really remember what turkey tastes like, so I have no idea if this is a good substitute—all I know is that I lurve it. I try to limit my intake of fake meats, but it’s been over a year since I last indulged my love of Lightlife Turk’y. Plus, it’s an excellent source of vegan non-soy protein (it’s made from vital wheat gluten, aka seitan). I plopped a pile of the stuff on a bagel along with two kinds of hummus and a few veggies. Glorious.
The rest of the afternoon was spent finishing up that pesky paper and enduring the tedium of assembling a references list. Ugh. Dinnertime rolled around soon enough…but I had no idea what to prepare. I turned to my Twitter friends for help, and Mama Pea came to the rescue! While she provided me with several possible meal ideas, I particularly liked the sound of BBQ tempeh and sweet potato. I had some prepared BBQ sauce in the fridge but discovered that it contains 11 grams of sugar for a measly two tablespoons. Accordingly, I improvised my own sauce with tomato sauce, vinegar, mustard, hot sauce, and a few spices.
In reviewing my meals today, it appears that the beta carotene queen has returned. At this rate, I’ll end up looking like this:
Oh well. Orange is sexy, right? I am off to watch some thoroughly thought-provoking television programming—Celebrity Fit Club! Goodnight, all.

haha hopefully all that beta carotene won’t give you green hair and white eyebrows
I notice that when I drink more, I sweat more. Lately my hydration has been lacking so I’ve been drier ;?
sometimes i do sport the beta-carotene glow…it beats going to tanning salons right?
i love the banana bread lara bar – it’s my fav!
No worries. I am a sweaty chic as well.. sometimes I like it because it makes me feel as though I REALLY worked out.
And, I’m all about the beta carotene. It’s cheaper and safer than tanning.
I ate those SAME slices tonight–going on the blog tomorrow AM
Wow we are twins.
I don’t usually sweat much when working out, just a fare amount. Maybe I need to amp things up a little?
I am, I have to say, a lucky one. Unless I’ve had the craziest workout EVER, I’m dry as the dessert.
oh my lord, I sweat like it’s nobody’s business. I’m right there with ya on the soaked-through shirt. It’s kind of insane. I’m so jealous of those people who can run for smiles and barely break a sweat. What’s wrong (or right?) with them!?
I wish that I could sweat, but for some reason my body doesnt seem to like to sweat even though I know that I am working out hard and getting in some good exercise.
hahaha love that clip. it wont play on my laptop but i know the one. mama pea always comes to the rescue on twitter! she did for me just the other day!
I’ve heard that if you sweat a lot it is a sign of being in good shape, because your body has a very efficient cooling system.
That SNL clip was AWESOME!
I sweat a lot, but what bugs me the most is how red I turn when I exercise. I look like a red pepper! Awful, really
)
I used to not sweat much… but lately I don’t know if it’s the weather or me but I sweat much much more.
love the orange theme food!
I sweat a lot too. When I’m working out at home sometimes I have to take my shirt off and work out in my sports bra so that I can use the shirt as a towel! Most of the time I try to remember a towel though – I don’t know if wiping sweat with sweat really helps lol
I sweat when I workout. It’s not a ton, but I still look pretty rough when I finish exercising.
I have a love/hate relationship with sweating. I love it while I’m doing it but hate walking around afterwards! I guess I need to find a Yoga studio that has showers haha
I am a sweaty beast when I work out – my face gets really red and my shirt definitely has sweat “spots” all over…
I love orange food – especially sweet potatoes!
i love that snl skit! i sweat a TON and i hate it. i never understood people who could do workouts on lunch breaks…i could never return to work after i run, im a smelly wet mess.
I am a major sweater!
I always bring a towel with me when working out, and I have to make sure I replace with plenty of fluids and electrolytes.
Are larabars really good over oats? I need to try that out! And it completely depends on the Schweatiness for me. Sometimes, I will come home from a long run and not drip a drop of sweat. But after something like a wrestling practice in a room that is 100 degrees, i will leave looking like i just took a shower.
It always feels good to get a good sweat on! I am not a big sweater, I kind of wish I was
Great eats. Your hummus= yum. I’m totally making it again this weekend for easter
My family <3's you for it!
I sweat a LOT – but that’s a good thing, right?
I had sweet potato today, too! Mine was just baked with coconut oil smeared on it. YUM!
I sweat…A LOT!
YUM – bagels! Tempeh!

I need to go back to the US so I can have those kinds of things ASAP
Great post, Caroline!
Have a great week
Brazilian XOXO´s,
