So-Long, Farewell
The past two and a half weeks here at home have been pure bliss—but it must now come to an end. Tomorrow morning, Seth and I return to Raleigh. As always, it pains me to bid farewell to my family for an undetermined amount of time, but I know that much awaits me in North Carolina. Plus, I have plenty of fond memories to look back on after I leave…
The hair transformation:
Breakfast with the brothers-in-law:
And a birthday breakfast:
What will you remember most about Christmas 2010?
I want to savor these last few moments at home, so let’s get onto the grub already.
To kick off my last day at home, I treated myself to some Almond Joy-inspired oat bran.
After a quick visit to a local cookware store, I made a simple Curried Tofu Salad.
The whole gang came over for a meal of turkey noodle soup (gotta use up those leftovers!). A hot bowl of soup sounded pretty good to me, so I made a vegetable soup along with a grilled cheese for dunking.
Good night, all—tomorrow I shall write you from Raleigh!

Omg your hair looks soo cute!
I am sad you are leaving
Too bad we only got to meet up one time!
i love how you can pull off any hair length! so cute. safe travels!
Lovin’ your chocolate oat bran; looks fabulous…such a great idea.
Happy Holidays!
What I’ll remember most about Christmas 2010 = the beautiful poem/note that “suave” wrote for me, and the diamond necklace he gave me. That, and being with him and my family for the celebration.
You look adorable, Caroline! Perky, smart, and pretty. Though, I must admit you’ve always been that way.

Aw, what a nice thing to say–thanks!
Looks like you had quite an experience being home– sorry you’re leaving! I totally know that feeling, not a fun one
Enjoy your last moments home and with the fam!
Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation! I’m loving your homemade veggie soup. Do you use a recipe or just do the everything-but-the-kitchen-sink method?
Have a lovely day!

No, I don’t use a recipe–I just water down some tomato sauce for the broth, add spices, and dump in whatever veggies I happen to have on hand!

That chocolate oat bran looks like the perfect start to a chocolate lover’s day… I’ll have to pass that onto my sister! Happy New Year!
Mmm, I have to say that the almond joy inspired breakfast looks amazing! All good things must come to an end, but I am sure you will look back on the time with your family fondly.
