Socialnomics
If you’re reading this blog post, it’s quite likely that you’re aware of the power of the internet. Blogs, as well as social networking sites have revolutionized the way companies market their products to us, not to mention the way we as individuals interact with one another. Recently, my dad sent me a YouTube video that discusses the impact of these media channels in an understated but effective way. Click on over and tell me what you think.
What do you think the future holds for social media? I would agree with the position taken by the creators of the above YouTube clip. Blogging and social networking are here to stay, and it behoove those in the marketing industry to maximize their potential. Plus, assuming blogs continue to be influential sources of information, then I’ll have at least one means of employment in the upcoming years after graduation:)
Anyway, onto the grub. I’m running low on fresh produce so I had to work some freezer/pantry magic today…
Remember my series of “in a jar” breakfasts? Well, this morning they made a bit of a comeback—SIAJ (smoothie in a jar) was on the menu today.
Before heading to class, I re-fueled with a curried seitan salad. If you’re interested in the recipe, I simply replaced the tofu in my Curried Tofu Salad with seitan chunks. Tasty.
For dinner, I relied on the good ol’ salad bar. I tried my best to get every color of the rainbow in on this one. Looks like I’m missing yellow—damn, should’ve gotten those banana peppers…
Now I am off to chillax. CYode, out.

I think I ate 1 lb of your artichoke hummus this weekend- it is seriously so so good! I must try your other varieties…if I can break away from the artichoke. Smoothie in a jar- love it
Little nut butter makes everything better
My thoughts? The world is getting smaller and smaller and part of that is due to social media. Your breakfast looks so voluminous and delish
I definitely related to the socialnomics video. It is revolutionary the amount of rapid change that has occurred in the past 5 years. I know plenty of people that twitter, facebook, and update their statuses constantly. I am not one of them but I recognize the significance of its new-found predominance and to a certain extent if you want to get somewhere…socially, as a brand, or as a professional you have to partake in the social media craze to be competitive, and no it is no longer a fad
I agree – social networking is DEFINITELY here to stay. Being connected is so important now and in the future, so I’m trying to get myself as much up to speed as possible.
Your SIAJ looks soo good. I’ve done the OIAJ, but still haven’t gotten to the smoothies. Soon!
It’s CRAZY how social networking has taken over and how fast too. It definitely isn’t going anywhere anytime soon though. It’s practically the only way we communicate nowadays! It’s almost scary.
I really have to try that Smoothie in a Jar idea. I also really need to go through nut butter jars faster haha
ahhh that smoothe look SO good!!
I want to make the artichoke hummus! erica told me to make “broccoli hut’s hummus” so I need to try it!
Wow – there are some really interesting facts in that video! I mean my jaw dropped a few times! Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
Without a doubt social media is here to stay. Just like SIAB
Have yet to join the “in a jar” breakfast trend. Have to try it!
