Somebody Stop Me!
Generally, I am a very controlled person. I don’t swear (much), I don’t overeat, and I keep my temper tantrums to a minimum. When it comes to shoes, however, I am a completely different person. No matter the time or place, the shoe section inevitably beckons me to ogle at its treasures. Although my unbridled enthusiasm for footwear has not yet resulted in any sort of debt, it has resulted in an extensive shoe wardrobe. In the past three months alone, I have purchased what you see here:
Fortunately, the most expensive pair here was under $40…but still those bargains can add up eventually. It’s almost as bad as my excessive food shopping habit! What is your favorite item to shop for?
I was victorious over my addiction today–I actually visited DSW and didn’t buy anything. I rewarded my good behavior with some fabulously fresh eats:
Monday
I’ve realized that it’s a rare day when I don’t have anything related to coconut. I got my daily dose with my smoothie last night.

Tuesday
A few months back, I had some “Indian oats” as part of my alphabet oats challenge. I re-created that glorious bowl this morning, with the help of a tasty Kardea bar. This Chai Spice flavor reminds me of spice cake–all it needs is a dollop of my mom’s homemade maple syrup frosting…

My lunch=why I love summer. Everything in this meal tasted so fresh! I dressed the salad simply with lemon and lime juice, salt, pepper, and cilantro from the garden. Based on this lunch and my Black Monster yesterday, I am still diggin’ the banana-blueberry (B&BB) combo. I washed it all down with a kombucha.

I made a veggie-loaded dinner by preparing a big pot of ratatouille. This version included onions, squash, tomatoes, eggplant, chickpeas, & herbs de Provence. Bonus: the squash and eggplant are from the farmers’ market.

Before I go, I want to show my latest goodies from the mail:

Zevia winnings
Zevia! I won these from Melinda‘s give-away. I gave up diet soda several weeks ago (since May 27th, to be exact!), so these will come in handy when I get a craving for the fizzy. I shall relate the details to you all as I sample the different flavors.
Off to choose which shoes to wear tomorrow:) Good night!![]()

Haha, I am a huge shoe person too. I just adore shoes, but am in a continuous “shoe ban” for buying so many. It doesn’t stop me though, it just makes me buy less than usual
But I also love shopping for clothing too. Ok, I just love shopping in general–food shopping included!
Indian oats is so creative! Coconut milk, chai, and mango all in one creamy bowl?? Yum!
I tried a different brand of stevia soda, and it was pretty good so I’m sure zevia will be too
Fellow shoe addict!! Love it
love the indian oats! my favorite thing to shop for is produce. even when i have enough at home, i can’t resist a juicy thing of organic berries, or a gorgeous stalk of super dark green broccoli! haha! it’s a problem! i actually love shopping for ALL food. i spend way too much on groceries. i’m trying hard to stick to a budget! nighty night, chica!

i love shoping for kitchen gadgets and dishes! your bowls are real pretty in this post.. the cream of wheat and yogurt are decorated real cute
Mmm that lunch salad looks delicious! Glad you had some yummy eats today!
And dont even stress about indulging in a few shoes every now and then! Seeing that you dont seem to over do it anywhere else in your life, I think it’s just fine that you like to treat yourself to some much deserved shoes!
AHHHHHH SHOES! they are my fav!! im the same way, don’t worry!!
I’m the total opposite: I’m not a controlled person in any sense and often let my emotions get the better of me, but clothes and shoes are the one area where I really don’t go overboard at all…I do have quite an extensive collection of worn-out running shoes though. I think our respective attitudes are reflected in our food pics ~ yours are so regimented and beautifully presented where as mine tend to be an assemblage of foodstuffs plonked on a plate lol.
My favourite thing to shop for=food, particularly hunting for new vegan lines. I have no shame.
Shoes are awesome
I say if you’re going with less expensive pairs (which you are) than keep the habit rocking! I love shopping for workout clothes & kitchen stuff & who doesn’t love the food store? I need to try the kombucha. I saw it at WFs yesterday but got too nervous! Beautiful lunchy salad
intriguing recipe using the Kardea bar….could you post your Mom’s maple frosting recipe.
I don’t know anything about shoes, but I love buying music & mugs
Love that cream of wheat. Looks delicious!
I am a shoe addict! I never get to buy any though because I’m saving up for a computer. When thats done…all my money will be thrown into shoes!
As side from food shopping of course, I love to shop for jewellry….necklaces to be exact!
I’m loving your summer salad. It looks so pretty and colorful!
I just like to shop period. I don’t discriminate in my purchases
I’ve never had ratatouille but, for a veg-head like myself, I think I’d love it! Hope you like Zevia!!
A plethora of kicks never hurt anybody. My favorite things to shop for are running gear and food…basically what my passions are. I love ratatouille & I love making it. I should put that on my cook to-do.
I’m actually not a shoe person! I would go barefoot if I could!
Hey, a fellow shoe freak…nice to meet ya
I love your blog by the way!
You food pics look amazing…so delish
Love your shoe style, girl! Those are adorable…I don’t blame you for splurging on them!
My favorite item to shop for are food bowls, tiny spoons, chunky jewelry, and jeans. Unfortanetly jeans are expensive so I need to keep control over that one.

lol, that is a lot of shoes! I only have 3 pairs, but then, I don’t have the fashion sense you do! I find myself unable to control my shopping when it comes to intersting new food products, or cute utensils, or pretty notebooks! Oh, and I LOVE jeans. Have too many of them to remember!
