Spring Break, Day 1: Welcome to Asheville
As promised, I now to write to you from Asheville. We encountered some pretty nasty rain and fog on our journey from Raleigh, but we safely arrived yesterday afternoon. This post marks the introductory post to the full documentation of spring break, similar to the format of last year’s spring break series.
After a quick elliptical session at the gym, we packed up the car. Before we left though, I made sure to fuel up with some Cho. The flavor of this lemon variety was delicious, but sadly the texture was way more liquidy than I expect from Chobani.
My tummy grumbled a few hours later, and we happened to stumble upon a Jason’s Deli, home of the world’s second best salad bar (after Whole Foods, of course). I also stashed a few of these glorious pumpkin seed crackers for the road:)
When we arrived at our destination, we were greeted with the smell of baking bread in our cabin’s kitchen. The cozy aroma was well-suited to the equally cozy interior decor:
We made a trip to the local grocery store to stock up—I’ll need some materials for my leisure cooking, after all. We didn’t have much energy to either explore and find a restaurant or cook, so I made a simple grilled banana-PB sandwich.
Then came the tragic Duke basketball game against UNC.
We have a few activities planned for Day 2. Stay tuned for the details!

Are you and Seth staying there alone? Or with some friends? And who’s cabin is it? Obviously I am way out of the loop!
What a nice place! Have a great time this week. Let’s just forget that game ever happened
i kind of had a feeling that some of those new chobs flavors would be a bit runny! chobs is usually pretty liquidy to begin with and def not as thick as fage but it’s usually on sale more often haha
have fun on spring break girly!
That cottage looks super cute– how fun to spend the week there! Is there snow, maybe snow- related activities planned for the week? Happy stay!
That looks like a nice cabin. Have a great spring break.
Looks so nice, Asheville is one of my favorite cities in the world! I just wanted to let you know since your blog introduced me to Naturally More that on my spring break grocery shopping trip I found Naturally More almond butter, just in case you haven’t seen it!
What super cute cottage. The kitchen is so fun, and I love that sink!
