Sunday Night Shenanigans

As the last hurrah of this holiday weekend, the whole clan came over for Sunday night dinner. After the meal was over, my sisters and I took advantage of my camera’s near proximity at the dinner table (in true food blogger style). We had fun experimenting with my camera’s nifty “retro” setting.CIMG9346CIMG9347

When we tired of that, we decided to give Greta a new ear-style with the help of a few hair-ties:CIMG9353

(No worries–no dogs were hurt in tonight’s shenanigans). Such mature young women we are. How did you spend your weekend?

Friday

This flavor of the Amazing Meal was much more palatable than the pomegranate-mango. Perhaps I just like anything remotely related to chocolate?

Saturday

I got my red, white, and blue on with my pancake breakfast. These were quite the fruity pancakes, as I used my usual banana pancake recipe and added berries for color. The coconut butter was the best part–it was just like icing!

Later I sipped on some kombucha…another fabulous flavor!

Layered salads are so much fun to make! Plus, they’re quite photogenic, no?

For dinner, we headed over to Lea’s house for a big BBQ with her in-laws. I wasn’t really feeling a soy dog or a veggie burger, so I opted for a completely different route: a hummus trio on a hot dog bun with grilled veggies. Satisfying but super messy!

Although I was not in the mood for burger bliss last night, I somehow got a craving this afternoon for lunch. These patties rock my socks.

Tonight’s dinner was another frenzy of random dumping in the pot, but the end results was still pretty yummy, nonetheless. This was my first time using orzo, and I think I’ll be using it more often in the future. Let me know if you have any recipes!
