The Broccoli Hunt

As I mentioned last Friday, the Broccoli Hut will be getting an update in the near future with a new header that is more in accordance with my current eating habits. In order to get the design process rolling, I’ve been asked to provide a few of my favorite broccoli pictures.

Well, type in “broccoli” in my search bar, and you’ll soon see just how often I chomp on the wonder veggie—there are literally hundreds of posts that feature broccoli.

Nonetheless, I am on the hunt for pretty pictures of broccoli, so if you have any you would be willing to share, please let me know!

What’s your favorite way to enjoy broccoli?

Shockingly, I haven’t eaten any broccoli today…yet. There’s still time for a midnight snack:)

Today I made the sad discovery that I am down to my last can of pumpkin. I put it to good use this morning in a bowl of oat bran.

For lunch, I made a modified version of Clean Eating’s Curried Egg White Salad with Apricots. I say “modified” because I included only the ingredients I could remember off the top of my head.

A few weeks ago, the kind people at Tandoor Chef contacted me about their new vegan Vegetable Masala Burgers. They’ve requested that I develop a recipe using the burgers, and I set about doing so with tonight’s dinner. I decided to spice it up with two homemade sauces.

My thoughts on the burgers: the patty itself was pretty grease-laden, but I liked the fact that the vegetables were clearly visible. No tiny bits of carrot here—these were legit vegetable chunks. I also liked that the ingredients list for these patties is comprised of easily recognizable vegetables and spices. A minor drawback is that there are just 2 grams of protein per burger—pretty paltry for something intended to be a meat substitute for vegans/vegetarians.

  1. Roasted broccoli is so addicting!

  2. Delicious, delicious, delicious! I have to say I have never been a fan of any veggie burger except Trader Joes’ (it is kind of greasy though) and of course homemade.

I saw the previews for Extreme Couponing and I want to watch it so bad, it looks AMAZING.

  3. That veggie burger looks pretty good!
I like to add broccoli to stir fries and salad.

  4. I love broc too! I just steamed some for Ari for dinner (he wasn’t a fan of my Brussels sprouts). I like it plain, but I also like the garlicky broccoli we serve at my restaurant! There’s also a great 101 cookbooks recipe for double broccoli quinoa that’s pretty delish.

  5. My favorite way to eat broccoli is roasted with sea salt, olive oil and nutritional yeast. Tastes like crack– no joke :) Not that I know what crack tastes like, honestly :)

If you need any help with photos, just holla at me!

  6. oo i gotta try those burgers!!

  7. Broccoli is my favorite veggie! I like to sauté it with peanut oil and chopped honey roasted peanuts!
