The Dairy Fairy

Upon returning home from class this afternoon, I was delighted to discover that I had been visited by the Dairy Fairy.

As you might guess from my two Greek Yogurt Guidebooks, Greek yogurt is one of my favorite snacks, and Chobani happens to be one of my favorite brands. The occasion for this delivery was the recent release of Chobani’s new flavors (lemon and mango); I also get the chance to test out their line of kids’ yogurt, Chobani Champions.

Thanks to Chobani for the samples…not to mention those sweet lunch boxes:)

Do you like Greek yogurt? What’s your favorite kind?

I dug into the samples above today, but that’s not all I ate.

Breakfast this morning was a  magical combination of banana, blueberries, and coconut butter. I’m pretty sure this is my all-time favorite oat bran flavor.

For lunch, I prepared an Ellie recipe, L.O.V.E. Sandwich Wrap

My tweaks:

-I used vegan mayonnaise instead of regular mayonnaise…this recipe is obviously not vegan, but that’s the mayonnaise I like and keep on hand.

-The recipe calls for red bell pepper, but I used a yellow one—I accidentally I ate my red one with yesterday’s lunch.

Once again, this recipe was tasty enough, but I was unimpressed with its originality. It’s basically just egg salad with a few vegetables thrown in for color.

The recipe is available from FoodNetwork.com: L.O.V.E. Sandwich Wrap

Once dinner-time rolled around, I busted out my newest jar of BBQ sauce. While in search of my usual Bone Suckin’ Sauce, I stumbled across this pumpkin-spiked variety. It was supah-spicy and just a tad sweet—plus, it contributes to your daily intake of vitamin A!

Alright, I’ve got some studying to do. Toodles.

  1. i usually stick to the plain greek yogurts– that way i can add my own flavors for either sweet or savory purposes!

    good luck studying

  2. I got that exact same package today! Are you giving away the second lunch box? I think I might!

  3. I used to eat greek yogurt a couple times a week before going vegan. I wish there was a vegan version that is soy free. Your meals look great.

  4. oh my godddd chobanskies hooked you up! i love the little chobani champions haha

i can’t deny though that fage is my favorite for sure

  5. mmm love greek yogurt, those lunch boxes are adorable! I like to add cocoa powder and chia seeds to mine :)

  6. What a nice package you got, lovely lunchboxes! I bought the chobani very berry flavor yogurt for my son and it was so good both me and my husband ate it too!
I am excited about the mango flavor as mangoes is one of my favorite fruits! Let us know if you like it Caroline, I will keep an eye open to find it at the stores!

  7. Love Chobani!!!
Hey, how do you prepare your oatmeals/oat brans? You make them in a way I have never tried before..
Also, how do you make your BBQ tofus? Just marinate them with sauce and bake the tofu in the oven?
    Big thanks!

  8. Please teach me how to make tofu like you do, please oh please oh pleaseeee!!

And I’m macking on those lunchboxes, but I’m a fage girl through and through ;)

  9. My dairy fairy got delayed :( But it’s a good thing because I’m leaving tomorrow morning!

  10. I got samples from Chobani recently as well– however, I didn’t get the new flavors and the lunch box! I’m indeed jealous :)

  11. lucky you!! i love getting packages of food :D .. i love your bbq tofu too!

  12. I love Fage plain Greek yogurt. The 0% variety is so thick it tastes like 2%, and the plain flavor allows for my own yummy additions. I am TOTALLY jealous of the sweet lunchboxes they sent you, though!

  13. Pumpkin BBQ sauce sounds delish! I’ll have to look for that brand.

I like plain Oikos greek yogurt, though I don’t have it too often.

  14. Banana, blueberries, almonds, and oats… Truly a magic combination. :) Even when you add yogurt – which you now have heaps of, lucky!! I love Greek yogurt, but we don’t get Chobani or Fage or Oikos in Canada… (We get Liberté, which is just as awesome, I’m 99% sure!) Straight up PLAIN Greek yogurt is definitely my favourite… [I'll add my own fruit and flavourings, thank you~]

Too bad the recipe didn’t impress you in terms of creativity – maybe it was included just as a way to introduce those who’ve never had egg salad before? I have some recipes in cookbooks that I think are totally redundant… but who knows! Some people find them useful, I guess!

  15. A greek yogurt delivery AND pumpkin BBQ sauce? You’re just hitting the good food jackpot. I LOVE greek yogurt but we only get like one brand here in Canada. The rest of our yogurt providers need to hop on the thick yogurt bandwagon so I don’t have to keep straining my own. Though I haven’t done that in a while either. Clearly I’m a little greek deprived going on such a tangent here :)

  16. I am a big fan of mango peach greek yogurt by a company here in Canada called Liberte. In spite of my sweet tooth I really do prefer a tangy yogurt and Greek yogurt is perfect for that.. you are lucky!

  17. I love Greek yogurt! I think my favorite brand is the plain Voskos brand (the flavored ones aren’t as impressive). Those lunch boxes are so super cute! How was the Champions yogurt?

PS, your grilled eggplant looks beautiful! I <3 eggplant!
