Trying Something New
It seems that the recurring theme of my life these days is trying something new: I’m attending a new school, learning how to live on my own, and acquainting myself with a new city. I made progress on that last item on the list this past weekend—with the help of Seth, of course.
First, we tried a new smoothie joint:
(More details below!)
We also tried a (relatively) new wine bar. We ventured to Six Plates last night, where I had been just once, for a blogger meet-up.
Seth also got to trying new things by finally getting rid of his sandals from circa 1999:
Yes, I did indeed utter a squeal of joy upon seeing these in the trash can:)
Did you try anything new this weekend? Deets, please!
Saturday
After sleeping in and taking my time in getting around to my workout, I didn’t end up eating this tasty breakfast wrap until about 12:30…not sure if it still qualifies as a “breakfast” wrap considering the time it was consumed. Whatever. Just please don’t judge me.
My tummy started rumbling soon enough, so Seth and I ventured to a new smoothie place near my apartment called Keva Juice. We all know I have a certain fondness for bloobs, so I ordered the Berry Berry Good with soy protein added. ‘Twas amazing.
Seth and I declared last night as a “date night,” so we spiffed ourselves up and ventured to Piazza Italia for dinner.
Sunday
I had a late breakfast at Seth’s house today, and improvised a parfait of sorts. He doesn’t have quite the girly selection of dishes that I do, so I used a beer stein instead of my usual parfait glass.
I sat down to a quick lunch this afternoon, only to realize that I didn’t have my camera. Blogger nightmare! Blackberry pics will have to suffice.
After an afternoon of hanging out (and camera retrieval), I prepared a modified taco salad with a chopped up black bean burger and spiced sweet potato.
Alright, The Wedding Singer is beckoning for my attention. Have a good week, lovelies!

Yay for date night! Everyone needs those. Especially when you’ve had as much sudden change as y’all have had. So glad that you’re finding new places to go while still finding some familiar. We tried a new kind of corn this weekend from Whole Foods — bicolor organic (see we’re that boring couple)
That spiced sweet potato looks like heaven on a plate
I love how you had a date night. I can never get my boyfriend to dress up!
I tried a new pizza slice last night – not sure what it was called but it had a lot of garlic and olive oil and was dotted with tomato paste – it was delicious
So jealous of your move! It’s way cute that you and you boyfriend had a little date night as well. I’m lucky if I can get mine to watch a movie with me! lol
I could say that all your meals look fantastic – but I say that every time
