Wardrobe Malfunction
Remember a few weeks ago when I was so excited about my Banana Republic purchases? Well the weather was finally pleasant enough for me to wear the oh-so-cute ruffled shirt, so I excitedly put it on today with a pair of jeans and heels.
I guess my excitement was so great that I failed to notice that the blouse was a wee bit large in the chest area (shocking, I know for a busty girl like me). At one point I looked down to discover that I was giving the world a little too much of a peeksie into my décolletage. Not only that, but my pants later had to be bolstered by a belt due to unnecessary low-riding. Sigh. I just need to get clothes that fit, I suppose.
Have you ever had a “wardrobe malfunction”?”
All accidental skankiness aside, I did manage to eat something today too. Observe:
Monday
After my dining committee meeting, I was ready for some chow. Refried black beans to the rescue—with a hefty dose of avocado of course.
Tuesday
In the past, I’ve made some darn delicious bowls of banana-blueberry oatmeal. Although they typically taste phenomenal, they often look like sludge. Accordingly, today I opted to add the blueberries at the end, after the oat bran is cooked…resulting in a slight less cement-like appearance. Yes, I care way too much about the looks of my food.
Following a much needed trip for groceries, I settled in to make a batch of Avocado Eggless Salad. Gettin’ my MUFAs today!
I am now off to prepare for a scary long day of classes tomorrow. Ta-ta for now!

Hello and welcome! I have created this blog for people who love food, especially healthful, vegetarian food.
I have just graduated from Duke University with degrees in English and psychology. I plan to pursue a master's degree in nutrition starting in Fall 2010. Ideally, I would like to combine my love of food and the written word someday as a health writer.

ah! i love when blueberries add a perrrty color to the oatbran when they get cooked in
mmmm mmm cement is my favorite flavor for sure.
love you cado-ed out day girl!
mmm gotta have those MUFA’S…that avo salad looks fantastic as do you in yoru new BR shirt! Love it
I always tend to add my bluebs at the end of my oats too, then I nuke the whole thing for about 30 seconds more till they get all warm and hot in the oats!
have a great nightttt
Haha I’ve had the same wardrobe malfunction! It’s a cute shirt though
Good luck with classes!
Aw! Yes I’ve had several wardrobe malfunctions in the past! Including lots of “I forgot to zip up my fly” days. I just try my best to put them in the past, lol.
Great burrito! I had a mexican inspired meal tonight myself.
Good luck with all of your course work!

Love the avocado wrap!
oh my goodness, caroline! i am smacking myself and my forgetful brain for not visiting your blog in sooo long! i missed so many wonderful meals…i shall be making some grocery lists that will help me rip off some of your wonderful creations. and since i am a dork and your blog is addicting, i read about this seth person…and backtracked to read all your entries since the first “treadmill boy” post. oh my gosh i am such a nerd!!! but the story/your love life is fascinating, haha, and of course i’m super happy for you! yay!!!! (and i’d be interested in you including some snack posts every once in a while again, because i am in a snack rut! k thanks!)
I love the shirt on you!! I have wardrobe malfunctions all the time.. my body is weird so my pants are either loose on my legs and tight on my hips or vice versa. So frustrating!
I have had some sad wardrobe malfunctions. Like the time I wore the skirt to my suit on backwards…during an interview.
I hate when the blueberries turn oatmeal blue – I much prefer when they don’t “bleed” so much. Blueberries and banana is one of my favorite oatmeal combos.
Just read up your on avocado eggless salad. It sounds amaaaaaaaazing! Thanks for inspiring me with this one
Ahh I’ve had many too many wardrobe malfunctions… haha I love it when pants fit you in the morning, then by the afternoon they’re falling off your butt.
Yahhh that’s always nice!
Ha, I think everyday is a wardrobe malfunction for me! I breast fed both of my kids and lost crazy amounts of weight after having both of them and I swear every shirt I own is a peepshow for people! Also, stretch jeans always ride down and that show my crack…everyday. I seriously need new clothes!
