Who Am I?
Over the past few days, the typical Caroline has been missing in action, in that my routine has completely vanished. I’ve gotten about 4 or 5 hours of sleep each night (in contrast to my usual 6 to 8), I’ve neglected my Google reader (I’ve never seen so many unread posts!), and—here’s the shocker—I’ve gone 3 days without a smoothie. Seriously, who am I?
As you might guess, this break from routine has been caused by the man I refer to as Treadmill Buddy; from now on, however, he shall be called by his real name, Seth. He knows about the blog (don’t ask how that came up), but he told me that he would prefer to “learn about me from me” rather than from my blog. So, I hope he’s not lying–because I fully intend on sharing deets about him with you:)
Last night he brought me this:
The rest of the date went well too…let’s just say I’m a little bit less like Josie Geller now.
Alright, romantic rumination complete…for now. Onto the eats:
Tuesday
Seth and I went to The Spotted Dog Restaurant and Bar for dinner last night. I was amazed that I had never heard of this very veg-friendly restaurant prior to Seth’s mentioning it. Even though the secret’s out about the blog, I did not take a picture of my meal—I decided it would be a mood killer. I order “The Tempest” salad: greens with artichoke hearts, cucumber, tomato, and marinated/grilled tempeh.
We also hit up West End Wine Bar afterward…wine is almost as good as a smoothie, right?
Wednesday
My obsession with raisin bran continues. I am embarrassed to admit how little of my just opened box remains uneaten! It made for one tasty parfait.
Lunch was a variation on one of my Salad Lady recipes: curried tofu salad with tropical fruit. YUM.
I am now off to get a little work done before I head out to another evening with Seth. Ciao, lovelies!

Hello and welcome! I have created this blog for people who love food, especially healthful, vegetarian food.
I currently attend college in North Carolina, where I am studying English and psychology, although I plan on pursuing an additional degree in nutrition after I graduate. Ideally, I would like to combine my love of food and the written word someday as a health writer.

GET IT, GIRL!!
NAWH!!! I am SO happy for you Caroline. Seth seems like a sweet guy – I’m sure he’ll agree to that! HAHA.
Have a sweet day ahead of ya
how exciting..a rose. I’ve NEVER gotten flowers from a guy on a date…enjoy.
Awww, a rose … how sweet! (Glad to see he’s more than just ‘treadmill buddy’ now ; )
yay!! this makes me so happy
Aww, the rose is classic
I would hate it for someone who I barely know in person to learn more about me via my blog. While it’s a good portrayal of part of me, it’s not me, so I think he’s doing a good thing
That is so sweet, a simple red rose
I’m so glad you two are hitting it off!
I hope you can make yourself a smoothie sometime soon!
I literally just went, “Awwwwwww!!!” How exciting for you! I have to say wine > smoothies but that’s just me
I am so happy for you that everything with “treadmill buddy” has gone well so far
I love those butterflies when you start to get to know someone you really like
Have a great night!!!
Congrats on the multiple dates!!!!!
The parfait and curried tofu look awesome!
Ohh, I am so happy for you that the date went well!

Ana
Awww, thanks for sharing the deets, Caroline! I was wondering where you went! And congrats on the first you-know-what and the lovely rose! That Seth sounds like a keeper
I have always wondered if the Spotted Dog was any good. Food pictures on a date can be a mood killer, but you have to ease him into it little by little! Sounds like you had a great time.

So, so happy for you! Isn’t it funny how out of routine we become when something (or something;) great comes into our life? I know the feeling.
JOSIE GROSIE!? You didn’t tell me THAT happened!! You have no idea how happy I am for you. So. genuinely. happy. And a rose? What a guy!!

), major, personality, general look?!?!?
Love you girl! So excited for ya-and seriously, that parfait looks killer! XOXO
Haha, I’m a bit baffled by this lovesick Caroline. But then, I don’t get love at all. But as long as you’re happy!
