WIAW

Back in the early days of this blog, I used to share pictures of my meals on a daily basis. I  have changed the format of the blog since then, but every now and then it’s fun to see what other people eat, right? Maybe that’s just me.

Nevertheless, I thought I’d publish my very first What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) post.

Peas and Crayons

Pre-workout Snack

I have the exact same thing every morning before my workout. It may be boring (and mean that I have to buy a boatload of bananas every week), but it seems to be just the right kind of fuel for exercise.

Breakfast

I’ve been on a green smoothie kick lately, so I whipped up one of favorite combinations for breakfast yesterday.

Lunch

I have a salad for lunch on most days, and yesterday was no different.

I made the roasted chickpeas by combining sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and chickpeas, then baking them at 400 F for 10 minutes.

Afternoon Snack

My salty tooth was beckoning yesterday afternoon, so I made a batch of air-popped popcorn, accompanied by a stick of string cheese.

I seasoned the popcorn with dill, onion powder, and basil—very similar to my ranch popcorn recipe.

Dinner

I made Mama Pea’s black bean soup for dinner last night—it’s always a no-fail recipe!

Evening Snack

After watching a couple episodes of Mad Men (officially obsessed!), I put together a quick snack bowl.

So there ya have my day in food.

What was your favorite meal or snack yesterday?

  5. I love mama pea’s black bean soup. I have her cookbook it’s one of the ones I actually look at and get ideas from!

Although I really liked the curry tuna sandwich and lentil chili I had for lunch, I made an awesome sandwich for dinner last night: almond butter and cinnamon butternut squash spread. It was a treat!

  6. I think it’s a great idea for you to join the WIAW !
